Renattch er et lille, virksomt og overraskende effektivt filter designet primært for at tilbyde et ekstra niveau af sikkerhed til Windowsbrugere hvis e-post passerer igennem en UNIX-lignende postserver. Mange moderne viruser spredes via e-post og renattach bekæmper sådanne viruser ved at filtrere vedhæftninger baseret på filendelsen. Ideen er at omdøbe potentielt farlige vedhæftninger (kørbare filer) så at brugeren, eller brugerens dårlig skrevet e-post-program, ikke ved et uheld kører vedhæftningen.
