GLib er et bibliotek der indeholder mange nyttige C-rutiner for eksempelvis træer, hash'er, lister og strenge. Det et et generelt brugbart C-bibliotek, der bruges af projekter som GTK, GIMP og GNOME.

Denne pakke indeholder udviklerorienterede kommandolinjeværktøjer til arbejdet med GObject-Introspection typelibs og GIR XML, der bruges til at tilbyde sprogbindinger og dokumentation for GLib-baserede biblioteker:

 * x86_64-linux-gnu-gi-compile-repository
 * x86_64-linux-gnu-gi-decompile-typelib
 * x86_64-linux-gnu-gi-inspect-typelib

Når brugt med denne pakke skal disse værktøjer igangsættes med deres værtsarkitekturnavne.

For kommandolinjekompatibilitet med ikke-Debianbaseret GLib-pakning så tilbyder pakken libglib2.0-dev også versioner for disse værktøjer for systemets primære arkitektur, navngivet med arkitekturpræfikset.
