Questo è ratmenu, un semplice programma che permette di creare menu X dalla shell. Nonostante sia stato progettato per ratpoison, funzionerà con qualsiasi window manager conforme al ICCCM.

Si è distaccato da 9menu versione 1.5 per fornire un supporto specifico al window manager ratpoison. Mentre 9menu risponde solo al mouse ed ignora la tastiera, ratmenu è sprovvisto di qualsiasi sensibilità al mouse e risponde solo alla tastiera. Da allora ha sviluppato funzioni molto belle e un funzionamento tutto suo. Il codice sorgente è stato ripulito da tutte le vecchie schifezze.
