Drbd è un device a blocchi progettato per generare cluster ad alta disponibilità fornendo un device virtuale che mantiene i dischi sui nodi sincronizzati utilizzando TCP/IP. Questo simula il RAID 1 evitando l'uso di hardware non comune (bus SCSI condivisi o Fibre Channel). È attualmente limitato ai cluster fail-over HA.
