Cdecl è un programma che trasforma frasi in inglese, per esempio "declare foo as array 5 of pointer to function returning int", in dichiarazioni C, per esempio "int (*foo[5])()". Può anche tradurre il C in pseudo-inglese, gestisce inoltre cast dei tipi ed anche il C++. In questa versione ha la possibilità di modificare la riga di comando e la cronologia grazie alla libreria readline GNU.
