ptunnel è un'applicazione che permette di creare tunnel per connessioni TCP ad un host remoto usando pacchetti di richieste e risposte echo ICMP, comunemente chiamate richieste e risposte ping. Agisce da proxy e può gestire socket e identificazione sicura.

Queste funzionalità possono essere molto utili quando si lavora in un ambiente di rete chiuso con firewall e proxy.
