ndppd è un demone che fa da proxy per certi messaggi NDP di IPv6 tra due o più interfacce. Attualmente supporta fare da proxy per messaggi Neighbor Solicitation Messages e Neighbor Advertisement per permettere il routing IPv6 senza appoggiarsi a "proxy_ndp" di Linux.

Il demone è parzialmente conforme alla RFC 4389 (sperimentale).
