Questo pacchetto fa parte di Robot OS (ROS). Questa libreria dovrebbe sempre essere usata per fare subscribe e publish di immagini. image_transport fornisce in maniera trasparente il supporto per trasportare immagini in formati compressi a bassa banda. Gli esempi (forniti da pacchetti separati di plugin) includono compressione JPEG/PNG e flussi video Theora.
