Il comando cu viene utilizzato per chiamare un altro sistema e agisce come terminale per chiamate in ingresso (per lo più su una linea seriale). Può anche eseguire semplici trasferimenti di file senza controllo di errore.

cu fa parte del sorgente di UUCP ma è stato diviso in un pacchetto indipendente dato che si rivela utile anche senza uucp.
