TkDesk è un gestore di file grafico per Unix (specialmente Linux) e il sistema X Window.

In confronto agli altri gestori di file disponibili, offre l'insieme più completo di servizi e operazioni su file e in più fornisce all'utente la capacità di configurare, in un modo potente, quasi ogni aspetto di TkDesk.

TkDesk è stato influenzato da vari altri sistemi e gestori di file, come NeXT per la disposizione delle finestre del navigatore di file, Apple Finder per l'idea delle annotazioni dei file e, orrore, Windows 95 per alcune altre ispirazioni.
