NUT (Network UPS Tools) è un sistema client/server di monitoraggio che permette ai computer di condividere hardware UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) e PDU (Power Distribution Unit). I client accedono all'hardware attraverso il server e vengono notificati ogni volta che cambia lo stato dell'alimentazione.

Questo pacchetto è un metapacchetto che installa sia nut-server sia nut-client; nella maggior parte dei casi è sufficiente per un sistema di monitoraggio UPS di base.
