bgw_replstatus è un minuscolo worker di background di PostgreSQL per riportare, a basso costo, lo stato di replicazione di un nodo. È pensato per essere richiamato tramite polling da un bilanciatore del carico come haproxy.
Quando è installato, viene avviato un worker di background che resta in ascolto su una porta TCP. Una connessione a questa porta riceverà una risposta TCP che indica MASTER o STANDBY a seconda dello stato corrente del nodo.
