Questo pacchetto contiene software per copiare news da un server NNTP alla macchina locale e copiare le risposte su un server NNTP.
La combinazione suck/rpost permette di gestire un proprio sito INN/CNEWS, controllando da dove prendere le news e dove inviare gli articoli in uscita. suck/rpost usano solo comandi NNTP standard che sono usati dai lettori di news preferiti (come tin, knews, trn) come POST e ARTICLE. Se si può usare tin o knews verso un sito NNTP, allora si può usare suck/rpost e avere flussi da siti multipli.
NOTA: suck non funzionerà con server NNTP obsoleti che non possono gestire il comando xhdr.
