Questo progetto fornisce un relay con multithread che può indirizzare cluster e destinazioni multiple per tutte le metriche sulla base di corrispondenze con modelli.
È fornita anche un'implementazione del routing con hash coerenti compatibile con quella originale di carbon. Questo relay gestisce anche aggregazione, failover dei server del backend e altro.
Carbon è il backend di memorizzazione predefinito di Graphite e supporta differenti protocolli per ricevere metriche; questo progetto ha l'obiettivo di essere un sostituto del componente carbon-relay originale di Graphite e supporta metriche protocollo "plaintext".
