Bing è uno strumento di misurazione della banda (da qui la "b" iniziale nel nome) punto-punto, basato su ping.

Bing determina il reale flusso (grezzo, in contrasto con quello disponibile o medio) di un collegamento, misurando i tempi di round trip delle richieste echo ICMP per pacchetti di dimensioni diverse a ciascun capo del collegamento.
