rtorrent er en BitTorrent-klient baseret på LibTorrent. Den bruger ncurses og forsøger at være en let men funktionsrig BitTorrent-klient, med funktioner der ligner de mest komplekse grafiske klienter.

Da det er et terminalprogram, kan det bruges med »screen«/»dtach«- redskabet så at brugeren nemt kan logge ud fra systemet men bevare filoverførslerne aktive.
