RocketCEA kan bruge stil at hjælpe med at bestemme indtastningsværdier for et raketmotorsimuleringsprogram, såsom openmotor. Beregningsmotoren er en ændret kopi af NASA's »Chemical Equilibrium with Applications« (CEA) Fortran-kode.
RocketCEA foretager direkte kald til en ændret kopi af NASA FORTRAN CEA-koden i tilstanden »rocket« for at beregne Isp, Cstar, Tcham etc. og tilbyder værktøjer til at hjælpe med at bestemme nyttige blandede forholdsintervaller, optimal MR med mere.
Ændringen til CEA2.f gør, at programmet kan håndtere hydrazin ammoniakdissociation af monodrivmiddel korrekt.
