PAR 2.0-kompatibel filverifikations- og reparationsværktøj

Par2cmdline er et redskab for kommandolinjen til oprettelse og brug af PAR2-filer som kan detektere og reparere skader i datafiler. Den bruges oftest som en del af et system for sikkerhedskopiering samt på Usenet.

Hvis filerne i sættet for gendannelse bliver ødelagt (f.eks. når de sendes eller gemmes på en fejlbehæftet disk) kan klienten læse de ødelagte filer og de (muligvis ødelagte) PAR2-filer, og gendanne de oprindelige filer.
