Korrelerer digitale fotografier med GPS-data og udfylder EXIF-felter - grafisk brugerflade

Gpscorrelate udfylder EXIF-felter (Exchangeable Image File Format) for digitale fotografier relateret til GPS-information (Global Positioning System, eksempelvis GPSLatitude, GPSLongitude, GPSAltitude ...). Opgaven med at udfylde disse felter kaldes »korrelation«.

Inddata for korrelationsprocessen er et sæt af JPEG-billeder og GPS-data indkodet i GPX-format (GPS Exchange Format).

Hvis GPS-data er tilgængelige i det præcise øjeblik fotografiet blev taget (med en præcision på 1 sekund), så lagres GPS-data uændret i EXIF-felter. Hvis de ikke er, så kan lineær interpolation af GPS-data, der var tilgængelige i øjeblikke før og efter fotografiet blev taget, anvendes.

Der tilbydes både et kommandolinjeværktøj (pakken gpscorrelate) og en grafisk brugerflade i GTK+ (pakken gpscorrelate-gui) til den.
