Dasher er en effektiv informationsgrænseflade til tekstindtastning, drevet af naturlige, kontinuerlige pegebevægelser. Dasher er et konkurrencedygtigt system til tekstindtastning når et fuldt tastatur ikke kan anvendes - for eksempel:

 * på en håndholdt computer
 * på beklædningscomputere
 * til betjening af computer med én hånd, en styrepind, en trykfølsom
   skærm, en musebold eller en mus
 * til håndsfri betjening af en computer (dvs. mus styret med hoved
   eller øjne).

Øjenstyringsversionen af Dasher tillader erfarne brugere, at skrive tekst så hurtigt som normal håndskrift - 25 ord per minut; med brug af mus kan erfarne brugere skrive 39 ord per minut.

Dasher bruger en algoritme til prædiktion, der er mere avanceret end T9(tm)-systemets som ofte anvendes på mobiltelefoner, da det er følsomt overfor den omgivende kontekst.
