Il progetto mira a creare una toolchain in stile unix completa, portabile e multiarchitettura per il reverse engineering.

È composto da un editor esadecimale (radare) con un livello di I/O racchiuso in un wrapper che gestisce diversi backend per file locali/remoti, uno strumento di debug (OS X, BSD, Linux, W32), un analizzatore di flussi, un assemblatore/disassemblatore (rasm) per x86, ARM, PPC, m68k, Java, MSIL, SPARC, moduli di analisi di codice e funzionalità di scripting. Inoltre uno strumento per diff binari chiamato radiff, un convertitore di base (rax), uno strumento ausiliario per sviluppo di codice shell (rasc), uno strumento per estrazione di informazioni binarie che gestisce PE, mach0, ELF, class, ..., chiamato rabin, e un'utilità per hash basati su blocchi chiamata rahash.
