TBB è una libreria che aiuta a sfruttare le prestazioni di processori con core multipli senza dover essere un esperto di thread. Rappresenta un parallelismo basato su task e di livello più alto che astrae il meccanismo di thread e i dettagli della piattaforma a scopo di prestazioni e scalabilità.
Nota: se si è un utente dell'architettura i386, cioè hardware Intel a 32 bit o compatibile, questo pacchetto gestisce soltanto processori compatibili con Pentium4 o successivi.
Questo pacchetto include i file runtime di TBB.
